There seems to be no respite for the founder of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and his spouse, Bushra Bibi, as they have been arrested in a new National Accountability Bureau (NAB) reference related to Toshakhana gifts, on the same day they were acquitted in the Iddat case by an Islamabad court.
A team of NAB headed by Deputy Director Mohsin Haroon ‘arrested’ them both in Adiala jail, where they are already serving their term. Geo News has reported that this new case is related to the alleged ‘misuse of power for acquiring Toshakhana gifts’.
Previously, Khan’s sentences in the previous Toshakhana cases were suspended, and the Islamabad High Court (IHC) also acquitted him in the cipher case.
However, in a separate incident, an Anti-Terrorism Court in Lahore dismissed Khan’s pre-arrest bail petitions this week in three cases related to the May 9 events.
